Reasons for low capacity storage in comparison of Storage Offered

Hey Guys,

Everyone of us use pen drive , hard disk or other storage devices and most of you might be thinking why the hell I get low storage in comparison of storage offered.

Some people say that it's reserved for system file , drivers bla bla bla.

But these answere are wrong.
Let's look in the memory calculations
1024 bytes = 1 KB
1024 KB = 1 MB
1024MB = 1GB
1024GB = 1 TB

But manufacturing companies face difficulty while taking 1024 , so they count as follows :
1000 bytes = 1 KB
1000 KB = 1 MB
1000 MB = 1GB
1000 GB = 1 TB

So, if I have purchased 1 TB hard disk, then manufacturer has given me 1000 GB or 1000,000 MB or 1000,000,000 KB or 1000,000,000,000 bytes.
But while counting my storage , my computer or device will take 1024 for calculations.
So it will count it as 1000,000,000,000 bytes or 1000,000,000,000 / (1024×1024×1024) GB i.e. 931.32 GB.
So, I will get 931.32 GB (approximation error excused).

So , I believe you have got a satisfactory reason for low capacity storage. There is nothing like drivers, system files etc.
