⚫Union Civil Aviation Minister said his ministry has set a target of operationalising 100 unserved and underserved airports and starting at least 1,000 air routes under the UDAN scheme.He also said that privatisation is required in the field of aviation as it is not the Govt's specialisation to run airports.
⚫FM said the country required at least 20 institutions of the size of the nation’s largest lender, SBI, to be able to meet its aspirations.
⚫Continuing the selling spree for the eighth consecutive month, mutual funds pulled out Rs 12,980 crore from equities in January as surge in markets provided an opportunity to book profits.
⚫FPIs pumped money into capital goods, auto sectors before Budget. 
⚫PhonePe has, once again, emerged the top UPI app in January, with 968.72 million transactions worth Rs 1.91 trillion, accounting for 42% of the UPI market alone.
⚫Over 150 people are feared dead due to a flash flood, following a glacier coming apart and an avalanche on the Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand. The privately owned Rishi Ganga power project (130 Mw), was the first to face the brunt of the avalanche.Tapovan (520 Mw), Pipal Koti (4x111 Mw), the hydro project of state-owned THDC, and Vishnuprayag (400 Mw) of Jaypee Group also faced damages.
