Some facts about Devices, chargers and batteries

Hello Friends,

We use many devices in our day to day life like tablets, laptops, smartphones etc.

But I have observed certain misconceptions regarding these devices prevailing between us.
So I thought to write some facts and clear these misconceptions.

Q1. Does radiation of devices like smartphones , wifi etc harm us ?
A : Our body can absorb certain amount of radiations very easily and every devices is marketed in a particular area only if it has compiled SAR requirement.

SAR means Specific Absorption Rate i.e. what amount of radiation can be absorbed by one gram or kg of our body tissue. SAR at your head and body is different and this Absorption rate has been determined by scientists and approved by government. Any device spreading radiation above this rate can not be sold. So your fone or wifi is not harmful at all.

Q2. Whether we should charge our devices overnight ? Is it harmful for us , our battery or device ?
A : These days, all devices comes with overcharge protection. It means your device has a relay and it will activate when device ia fully charged. When it is activated, your device will stop accepting current. So, there is no issue in charging your device overnight.

Q3.  Should we charge our device only when it is dead or can we charge it anytime like at 70% or 80% or so.
A. Experts says, when your battery is completely died and you tried to charge it then several attempt is required to wake up the battery and ionise them. So, charging when dead battery is a bad decision.

Charge before it dies.

I charge my devices whenever my device is free like even at 70% , 60% or so.
You also do it and It will not hamper your battery at all.

A battery life depends on charging cycle it has completed. Nornally a  smartphone battery has 1000 charge cycles. Thereafter, performance starts decreasing. Cycle means complete cycles and not half or part. So charging it anytime is a good decision. Your device will be always top-uped with power.

Q4  Should we use our phone or call while charging ?
A. Have you ever seen any company or government warning you not to do so ? There is no issue to call while charging. Your device may heat only but will not explode.

And it only heats because it is charging, discharging and calling af same time. Nowadays, smartphones with quick charge option heat even when you are simply charging and not calling.

Explosion of batteries happens only due to manufacturing defect.

Q5. Should we use any other company's charger for my laptop or mobile ?
A. You can use it only when both have same output current. You can check output fron back of your charger and if it's same, then there is no harm in using it.

Make sure that you are using trusted brand charger, equipment and battery.
