👉Govt likely to extend Term of Anti-Profiteering Authority, beyond its original 2 year mandate as it thinks that it needs to function for a longer period in light of the frequent rate changes in the current GST regime and the unfinished task of bringing petroleum products under the new indirect tax regime.
👉GSTN Update: The Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ) has updated a new functionality allowing the taxpayers to file Refund Application for multiple tax period in four types of cases and upload of prescribed statements.
👉Govt appoints Rakesh Sharma as MD & CEO of IDBI Bank. Sharma is a former MD and CEO of Canara Bank and was among the few bankers hired in 2015 from the private sector to lead big state-run banks.
👉RBI proposes New Norms for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) to attract Long-Term and Stable FPI Investments into Debt Markets while allowing them operational flexibility. RBI in consultation with the Govt. and SEBI, has proposed a special route called Voluntary Retention Route (VRR) to encourage FPIs willing to make long-term investments in debt.
