👉The bankruptcy court has decided to entertain a plea by Videocon Group founder Venugopal Dhoot seeking to consolidate separate insolvency proceedings initiated by lenders led by State Bank of India against 15 of his companies under a single court.

👉The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is not expected to hike key lending rates in the current fiscal.

👉SEBI  imposed a total fine of Rs 7 lakh on three entities for failing to disclose the change in their shareholding in PMC Fincorp. SEBI  fined Seabird Retails Pvt Ltd and Seabird Distributors Pvt Ltd Rs 3 lakh each, while it imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on Economy Suppliers Pvt Ltd for violating PIT (Prohibition of Insider Trading) and SAST (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeover) Regulations.

👉Corporates are now realising that coming to terms with GST means a more drastic change to their tax infrastructure than the basic compliance-related changes they have made so far.

👉 Pyramid Infrastructure , a real estate company, has dragged the government to court over the constitutional validity of the anti profiteering mechanism under the goods and services tax and  claim the anti-profiteering mechanism lacks clarity and violates the fundamental rights of citizens such as freedom of speech and equality.

👉The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) Friday said it has developed a portal for facilitating filing of online applications for industrial entrepreneurs' memorandum (IEM) and industrial licence (IL). "This portal will be available for public with effect from October 16 for filing application and no applications shall be received through e-biz portal or in physical form.
