👉After an Annual Review Meeting of the Public Sector Banks, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announces 3 initiatives to take Banking to the last mile, comprising a Financial Inclusion Index, Geographical Mapping of Banking Services and Common Online Portal for Hassle-Free Online Loans for MSMEs upto Rs 1 Crore approved through a Completely Automated Process within just 59 minutes. .
👉Finance Ministry extends the Exemptions granted to EoUs and STPIs from payment of IGST and Compensation Cess by six months till March 31, 2019. The Integrated GST (IGST) and cess exemption to Export Oriented Units (EoUs) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) was scheduled to come to an end on September 30.
👉Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrests a Superintendent, working in the office of Commissioner, CGST Commissionerate, Rohtak (Haryana) in a bribery case.
👉SEBI tells Credit Rating Agencies — some of which were blindsided by the aura and size of IL&FS — to review borrowers as soon as their Bond Prices Crash, and even place such securities on ‘Rating Watch’ if prices continue to languish.
