👉Sh. Arun Jaitley resumes charge as Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs after a break of over 100 days, during which he underwent a surgery for kidney ailment.
👉Bombay High Court directs Additional Solicitor General (ASG) to seek clarity from CBDT by August 28 on Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on Physical Delivery of Equity Derivatives. The Brokers’ Association ANMI moved the court last month against SEBI and NSE for holding brokers responsible for collecting STT on physical delivery of equity derivatives
👉DGFT bans Bio-Fuel Imports for Fuel Purposes including Ethyl Alcohol and other Denatured Spirits, Biodiesel, Petroleum Oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals other than crude, through an amendment in Import Policy. The import of these items, which was free earlier, will now only be allowed for non-fuel purpose on actual user basis.
